Cannabigerolic acid (CBGa) is the the precursor of other cannabinoids in the biosynthetic pathway. It has been studied mainly for its role in the synthesis of other cannabinoids. THCa synthase, CBD synthase, and CBCa synthase catalyze the transformation of CBGa into THCa, CBDa, and CBCa respectively. [1]
